Clip Joint is a comedy about a movie review show. It stars the real-life Duke Maltin playing a somewhat fictional Duke Maltin as Clip Joint's movie reviewer. Additionally, Duke is the real-life and somewhat fictional cousin of the real-life movie-reviewer Leonard Maltin. The show-within-the-show features Duke and The Girls (chosen for their special understanding of cinematic syntax) which is counterpointed by an ensemble cast representing Duke's agents, managers, PR consultants, network executives, attorneys, hangers-on and people he doesn't even know.

Kathi plays Dolores, a former Miss America, who is charmingly correct and disarmingly direct -- as only someone who has right on her side can be. She is not above the strategic use of her big green eyes and can play it "blonde" when it suits her. The character debuts on the series by threatening a Miss America boycott of Clip Joint and the network on which it airs, leading to her hiring as a highly-paid consultant to the show.

The show has the same satirical bite found in the works of Terry Southern (Dr. Strangelove, The Magic Christian) and comments on the media, ethics and anything else that gets in the way.
